Continuing to keep people clean, safe and well
An update on In Kind Direct's service
There is no doubt that responding to the coronavirus pandemic has been a huge test here at In Kind Direct. With the help of our product donors and funders, and a huge team effort we have continued to rise to the challenge and expand our service in the face of unprecedented demand.
Our impact this year
We have distributed £23.2m worth of essential supplies to over 2963 charitable organisations this year.
676 - new charities joined our network
£21.6m - We have saved our charity partners over £21.6m this year.
Over 25,500 - We have dispatched over 25,500 orders to charities.
Adapting our service
With the need to ramp up operations, we have strengthened our systems to ensure we continue to provide a steady supply of life’s essentials to our network. We have:
- Invested in additional packing facilities and we have implemented a double shift at our warehouse as necessary to keep up and ensure social distancing is maintained.
- Secured new pro-bono overflow storage which enables us to respond quickly and efficiently to offers of new donations from companies.
- Confirmed all our suppliers and couriers have robust plans in place to keep getting goods out, including some deliveries at weekends.
Our Strategic Partners
We work closely with a range of partners to achieve our mission, ensuring everyone has access to life’s essentials and that no usable product goes to waste. In Kind Direct works alongside hundreds of companies, to support thousands of charitable organisations and together provide vital supplies to millions of people each year. We collaborate with those that share our goals and values – to making product giving easy, to unlock vital funds back into the voluntary sector and to maximise our impact.
Keeping in touch
During our crisis response, we have been communicating more regularly with our charity partners, product donors and funders to place us in the best position to proactively manage the changing landscape and needs of those we all support. We are strengthening and building new partnerships every day and thank all who are working with us to get essential supplies to where they are most needed. Here are just a few thank-yous from across our UK charity network:
