For this month's #DonorFriday, we want to celebrate our longstanding partnership with one of our generous corporate partners and #IKDPioneer, Kimberly-Clark.
Over the last 22 years, Kimberly-Clark has regularly donated products from some of the country's most-loved brands, such as Andrex, Huggies and Kleenex, to In Kind Direct. Thanks to the Group’s ongoing commitment to support communities, an incredible 5,900 charitable organisations across the country have received key essentials, including toilet roll, tissues, nappies and wipes, to date.
This year has been challenging for everyone – households, local communities and businesses alike have had to deal with the consequences of the pandemic.
More people were struggling to access the essentials like hygiene and cleaning products and, as the need to stay clean, safe and well had never been more important, Kimberly-Clark immediately committed to step up and do more to help those who have been disproportionately affected by the crisis.
As the country experienced unprecedented demand for key household products in April, Andrex® decided to take 3 fantastic initiatives, in partnership with In Kind Direct, to support communities during the pandemic. They donated one million toilet tissue rolls, the largest single donation in the brand’s history; launched the bespoke #ShareASquare campaign to engage with consumers and celebrate acts of generosity; and donated £1 for each use of the hashtag during the campaign period, to support In Kind Direct in distributing life essentials to local charities and community groups across the UK.
Toilet paper being one of the most essential items, Andrex also committed to support In Kind Direct’s Christmas with Kindness campaign, donating a further 250,000 rolls to ensure no one has to go without at what is a difficult time of year for many.
We also worked with Huggies®, when they set up their new online shop in Spring, to help families access essential baby products during the pandemic and keep their little ones clean, safe and well. The ‘Buy one Gift one’ campaign meant that, for every pack of wipes or nappies purchased online, Huggies would donate an equivalent pack to In Kind Direct, allowing their consumers to also help those in need. This fantastic initiative led to the donation of 100,000 packs of Huggies products.

When Kleenex® launched its new Proactive Care™ range last month, we worked together to provide thousands of hygiene face masks to charitable organisations in our network, to enable them to keep doing their vital work, safely, up and down the country. This is crucial at a time when demand is increasing, and people are more and more reliant on their support.
Matt Stone, Director of Family Care Kimberly-Clark UK & Ireland, explained:
“Providing essentials for a better life is at the heart of what we do at Kimberly-Clark and we believe that everyone should have access to life’s essentials. Over this critical time, it’s been more important than ever to keep up and increase our donations to support those communities where we live and work. We are proud and grateful of our longstanding partnership with In Kind Direct, who help us get our products into the hands of those who need it most. The work we do with In Kind Direct is at the core of our company values and will remain an important part of our future.”
