Launching the Product Giving Alliance
CEO Rosanne Gray explains why we’re working together to make product giving the easy option
The coronavirus pandemic has brought new thinking, innovation and greater collaboration to our sector. Today, with our partners Charity Digital, Fareshare and International Health Partners we are delighted to be launching the Product Giving Alliance. Together, whether software, food, medical or household goods, we will work to meet the needs of the most vulnerable communities across the UK as we weather the economic challenges that lie ahead.
To do this we are calling on British businesses to put product and service giving at the heart of their work, recognising the value of supporting communities and ensuring that nothing goes to waste. We know that there are vast amounts of surplus available for product giving, estimated at £2billion a year for consumer goods. As an Alliance we will give businesses the confidence that their donations will deliver measurable social impact, and highlight the commercial and environmental benefits of donating their goods and services.

We are grateful to all our product donors who have stepped up and look forward to many more joining us. Across all sectors, we must build a strong, sustainable response for the long term as we collectively rebuild our communities.
