We are excited to be recruiting a number of new Trustees to join our Board in 2022.
About IKD
In Kind Direct (IKD) is the UK charity providing a simple solution to connect companies and their products to thousands of charities, community groups, schools and the communities, families and individuals they support. Together we make a difference to 249,000 people each week.
We are an enabler, supporting local organisations to do more for less, whilst making it easy for companies and brands to have a positive social impact with the products they make and sell.
At IKD we believe everyone deserves access to life's essentials and that no useable product should go to waste. Since being founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1996, we’ve:
- Unlocked £270m of savings into the charity sector
- Diverted 31,800 tonnes of usable products from going to waste
- Supported over 11,400 charitable organisations
Who we're looking for:
This year IKD celebrates its 25th anniversary and by 2025 our goal is to triple our impact reaching 600,000 people every week. We are looking for new Trustees with the enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to help take us to this next level. We are passionate about diversity and the positive impact this has by bringing different experiences, skills and thinking to the table. We therefore actively encourage applications from all back grounds and experiences.
As a trustee you will;
- Work with a group of optimistic and determined problem-solvers who want to make a difference
- Have opportunity input into the strategic direction of IKD
- Provide guidance and constructively challenge in equal measure to the CEO and
- Regularly meet and network with the Board and team
- Be able to build relationships with a diverse range of charitable organisation and corporates across the UK
You would receive an induction into what we do, training and reimbursable expenses
The expected commitment will be 6 days per annum. This includes quarterly meetings (usually in central London) for approximately 2 hours and an away day. For further information please download the full trustee pack here.
